Dream-Home-1952444I admit it.  I love planning my dream home.  I don’t know that I’ll ever get to build it.  But I still enjoy planning it. Designing our dream home is actually something David and I really enjoy doing together. We use Google Hangouts to share links to ideas we like. Sometimes its entire homes. Other times, it’ll be ideas specific to one area of the home. Do we always agree? No. But we still have fun. When I was looking for ideas for today’s blog post, I thought it would be fun to start sharing some of my favorite ideas with you. And I’m going to start with the pool.

My dream pool would be an outdoor pool (as long as I live in South Florida anyway).  I want lots vegetation plus a few fire features.  I also want the pool to have a waterfall.  In addition to the pool itself, there should also be a waterfall. It should also include a hot tub.  And a built in slide for additional fun.

In the vicinity of the pool, I want to have a big outdoor kitchen. In my dream world the outdoor kitchen would have a huge barbecue grill using propane as it’s heat source (Hank Hill would be proud), a small ice box and at least one warming drawer. I also want the barbecue grill to have at least one side burner and a rotisserie. I’ve always loved to grill. I used to do it all the time before I got married, but haven’t had an outdoor grill sense I got married.

This is not the end of my dreams. I also want to have a fire pit or outdoor fireplace and lots places to sit and relax.  This is an area where I see myself spending a lot of time. One of the great things about South Florida is that you can be outside all year long. (And it is actually more enjoyable in the winter time.) I suspect this will quickly become one of my favorite parts of the house.

I am always collecting new ideas for my dream home. I do this on Pinterest.

And on Houzz.
