Sushi Boat

Everyone once in awhile, I like to create a post that shares a little bit of myself with my readers. Today, I want to share with you five of my favorite foods.

1.  Sushi

This is actually the newest item on the list.  I only discovered my lover for sushi after I married David.  I started out strictly eating vegetarian sushi.  I’m not a vegetarian, but I could not bring myself to eat fish sushi.  (Weird, since I love ceviche.)  Then I challenged myself to try a different piece of sushi every time I was at a Japanese restaurant.  I’ve only once discovered I did not like what I tried and that was when I tried Uni.

2.  Fried Chicken

I think I truly came to love fried chicken in sixth or seventh grade.  Up until this point in my life, I did not eat very much.  I think the cafeteria works at my elementary school were really worried about how little I ate.  Home made fried chicken changed it all  We were visiting relatives in Colorado and one of my Great Aunt’s made fried chicken.  I was in love.  And my family was so surprised when I ate a full meal.

3.  Chicken & Dumplings

This is another favorite from my childhood.  It is an absolute favorite.  And none are better than the chicken & dumplings my mom made.  It was absolutely one of her best dishes.  There is one thing I do need to make clear.  I love rolled dumplings.  I can’t stand drop dumplings, so I have to check before ordering.  It is critically important that my dumplings be rolled.

4.  Polish Sausage

I am not certain when my love for polish sausage began.  But I know that it existed by the time I was in high school.  I remember dropping by the RoadRunner and getting polish sausage placed in a slice of white bread.  So good.  Later my mom cooking it with fried potatoes.  Oh so good.

5.  Potatoes

This might be my first favorite food.  I have loved potatoes for as long as I can remember.  And I love potatoes cooked in a variety of ways.  I love mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and fried potatoes.  Boiled potatoes and baked potatoes are good.  And lets not forget my favorite breakfast food, hash browns.  I absolutely love potatoes.  So, which type of potato is my favorite?  I guess I’d have to say the fried potato.  But it’s a difficult position as I really, really love them all.

Are you as hungry as I am?  Before you go find something to fill your stomach, leave me a comment and let me know your favorite food.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Until next time, don’t forget to document your memories.
