On Thursday, I hosted a speed scrap at Funky Playground Designs.  And since I was the host, I needed a sample layout.  And that means I have another layout to share with y’all.

This layout was created using the Slainte Collection from Jen C Designs, Everyday Moments Alpha from CathyK Designs and a Photo Texture from NinianLF. The smaller photo was taken by Happy Astorga.  I really had a lot of fun putting this layout together.  It took me awhile, but I think the final product was worth it.  And I absolutely fell in love with shadows in Photoshop CS5 after doing this layout.  I don’t think I would have loved it as much with the shadows.  As is oftent the case, the layout features my husband David.

I still need to work on the way I want the shadow to look with glitter.  And I really wanted to give the red and white ribbon a shadow to make it appear as if it lifted off the page.  But I’ve only been working with Photoshop CS5, after moving from Gimp, for less than a month.  So I think the shadows turned out pretty well considering this my second layout with CS5.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I created this layout for the speed scrap I hosted on Thursday.  At FPD, we like to give you a chance to participate even if you can’t make the big event, so you still have time to create a layout and receive the participation prize from jusme digital.  You can find the instructions located in our forums.

I’m really enjoying getting back in to scrapping.  So be watching for more layouts from me.
