Never Forget 9/11

This is not going to be a long blog post today. I’ve written posts on the anniversary of September 11, 2001, several times. I don’t need to rehash those posts today. But I just cannot let this day pass with pausing a moment to remember. I pause today to remember those who died in the plane crashes that ultimately caused the collapse of the Twin Towers, the first responders who sacrificed their own lives to save others, the men and women who died at The Pentagon and the passengers on the plane who bravely tried to regain control before crashing into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. All of these deserve to be remembered and that is the purpose of this blog post. To Remember!

Thinking about that day, still brings tears to my eyes. Such a horrible day. One that is embedded in my memory like nothing else. I have a horrible memory. That’s why I scrapbook, so I don’t forget. But 9/11 is still so vivid in my mind. I think it always will be. But I do realize that if we don’t take a moment each year to stop and remember, it will soon be forgotten by those who don’t really have memories of that day. That is something that we should never allow to happen.

I have some other thoughts that are tangentially related to this day, but I will save those for tomorrow. Today is a day of remembrance and I just wanted to pause to make sure I took the time to do just that.
