I have to say it. Donald Trump cannot be President. It would be an absolute disaster for the United States if he were to actually be elected President in 2016. I thought everyone would recognize this and Donald Trump would be in the race for all of two weeks. Instead, he is now the frontrunner for Republican nomination. Just the idea has ice running through my veins.
First, let me state this has nothing to do with the fact he is a Republican. I don’t believe in voting based on party. No one party has all the answers. I will vote for the person I think is best suited for the job regardless of party. To be honest, I don’t know yet who I am going to support during this election cycle. However, there is one thing of which I am definitely certain, Donald Trump is not the right person for the job.
If you read my previous post on birthright citizenship, then you know I completely disagree with Donald Trump on this issue. To be honest, I disagree with Mr. Trump on most issues. But that’s not the reason why I say he “cannot” be President. Sure, I would definitely prefer that someone with his political leanings not be elected. Usually though, I believe that the United States will be okay regardless of who is elected President. This time is different. I absolutely feel that Donald Trump is the wrong man for the job and would be a major detriment to the United States.
That being said, there are multiple reasons why he cannot be President. First, a look at Donald Trump’s Twitter account will show that he has no respect for women. There is a reason Megyn Kelly questioned him about his Tweets regarding women. We cannot afford to have a man in the White House that does not respect women.
Second, he is a bully. Look at how he has treated Megyn Kelly since the debates and it is clear to see he is a bully. So many people are working to hard to shine a spotlight on the evils of bullying. Bullies hurt people. It’s simple. Given that, why would we want a bully to lead our nation.
Third, he is a racist. I don’t say that because of his stance on immigration. You can want to see changes come to pass that will end illegal immigration without being a racist. However, Donald Trump’s statements on people from Mexico make it clear that he is absolutely racist.
I could probably go on and list more reasons why Donald Trump cannot be President. However, they call come down to one issue. Donald Trump is mean. He does not have the personality necessary to do a good job as President of the United States.
Can you imagine Donald Trump involved in diplomatic negotiations? He just expects no one to ever challenge him or disagree. If they do, then he feels they deserve his ridicule. You cannot be President of the United States with that attitude. You just cannot.
By the end of his first term in office, the United States would have zero friends. Even Canada will hate us. Great Britain will have long deserted us. Worse still, can you even imagine how countries with female leadership will feel about this country? Diplomacy cannot be conducted like an episode of The Apprentice. I am not sure that Donald Trump know how to behave in any other way.
To my Republican friends who may agree with Donald Trump’s politics, please find another candidate to support. There are sixteen other candidates currently running for President from the Republican party. Surely one of these candidates will suit you. I don’t have a recommendation for you. I am just asking for you to seek a different candidate to support before Donald Trump ruins the Republican Party.
It is absolutely not too late to stop Donald Trump from being elected. We need to get him out of the race as soon as possible so we can get on with the business of choosing our next President.
